The Civil War novel, published in 2011, is also the winner of the coveted John Esten Cooke Award for Southern Fiction and the Next Generation Award for Regional Fiction.
ForeWord’s Book of the Year Awards program was designed for booksellers and librarians to share in the process of discovering distinctive books across a number of genres.
The 2011 Gold, Silver, and Bronze Award Winners, as well as the Editor’s Choice Prizes for Fiction and Nonfiction will be announced at this year’s American Library Association conference in Anaheim, CA on June 23.
